OFFICE HOURS

Below are the hours that our front office is open.   Doctors' hours are by appointment.    Please note that we are always on Eastern time (i.e. South Bend time, or an hour ahead of LaPorte time).   If you have an after hours emergency, please follow the instructions on the clinic's recording at 574-654-3129 or use one of the two emergency clinics in the area.  We are not staffed after hours to be able to provide detailed after hours care or for continual monitoring when it is needed.   For clients who reside east of us, Night Owls Urgent Care is an option until 10 pm; their phone is 574-259-8387.   Another option is the North Central Veterinary Emergency Clinic Mishawaka; their number is 574-544-6200 but be aware they typically they are only open Friday 5 pm through Monday 8 am.  For those living west, the North Central Veterinary Emergency Center is an option; 219-785-7300 or 866 -785-7302.  F We recommend that you only seek after hours emergency care when your pet's condition truly warrants it.   Emergency services often cost 3-4 times the amount we would charge for comparable daytime care and often they will "suggest" that a procedure absolutely must be done immediately (when in actuality you could transfer your pet back to us during regular hours) or that the pet must stay with them for medical care (again, you have the option to transfer it back to us; they just won't let you know that).  We have found that too often clients cannot afford ongoing care because they spent so much at the emergency vet when they really did not need to!
